Entering the real world is a scary time-everything has been scripted for you up until now: do the best you can at school, in sports, and/or with your other interests. Now what?

What jobs are out there for you?  Would you be good at them?  Would you like them?  How do you get them?

Turns out, you don’t have to struggle.

You can learn to link the things you know you already like doing to jobs that already exist, or that you can create.

You can learn to tell your story in a way that will make people appreciate what you know and what you have to offer.

You can learn how to develop tools, skills, and confidence to understand what the interviewers on the other side of the table want from you.

There are only two things you can do wrong: Do nothing. Wait for something.

Introducing a unique program for college students and recent graduates that provides you with the tools, skills, and confidence you need to find a job that leverages the skills you already have, get that job, and start off on the right foot.

Why unique?

Because I was that person on the other side of the table for decades. I was deciding on who I thought should earn a place on my budget and I will tell you why and why not.

How do I know what you need? I’ve been in your shoes.

My first attempt to get a job out of college failed miserably.  So, I taught myself how to get the job I wanted, and it ignited a passion for teaching others how to do the same. I’m lucky that after my own long and successful career, I’ve been coaching others for the last ten years.

“I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This job hunt has been one of the most difficult and challenging experiences of my life. There were several months when it felt like I was never going to find a job and your encouragement really helped me push through that struggle. I’m thrilled with the resume/cover letter/interview help you provided me with, and I am far more confident that my next job hunt will go much more smoothly. I don’t think I could have done it without you, so again I thank you!”

Who is this for and who this isn’t for

This program is for new and recent grads seeking professional jobs to get them started in their careers. The program is not for people returning to the work force or seeking an edge in a career they have already started. It supports those who need to clarify how the skills they have gained in life to date can lead them to jobs they will like and help them land those jobs.

There is a lot of career advice available for free on the internet, but there is nothing available like what I can provide from the perspective of an executive and hiring manager. I have loved my long and varied career in the business world, but I stumbled getting started and am thrilled to be the resource I wish I had 30+ years ago. The content of my program is unique and it works. I am proud to have launched dozens of careers in the last decade on a one-to-one basis and to now be able to help a broader audience with these more affordable videos.

“Amy was great at preparing me for interviews by explaining exactly what I would be doing if I got the job, and how that fit into the overall company. Her coaching made me a lot more confident, and her written tutorials helped me clarify my own goals. I am so happy to have landed a great job, and it has been great to be able to call Amy in the first couple of months for her help and perspective on work issues.”

Everyone has been where you are and want to help you. I teach you how to make it easy for them.

Have contacts willing to help but not sure what they can do or how to approach them?

I can tell you.

Think networking is something scary you do in a business suit at a conference and is completely removed from normal life?

It’s not. You can do it while ordering coffee or walking your dog. I’ll teach you how.

Not getting any traction from your cover letters and resumes?

I know why.

Have great skills but not getting any callbacks?

I can help.

Have you even trying for jobs that you thought you would be lay ups and not even been getting offers there?

Don’t be discouraged–there’s a simple reason.

The material is easy to learn, both strategic and tactical, and packed from beginning to end with common sense tips that will leave you with a deeper understanding of both yourself and how businesses run. You can learn all aspects of the job search process from beginning to end in chronological order, or learn the content in the way that you want to use it. Understanding what people are looking for from you on the other side of the table takes away considerable anxiety and allows you to focus on presenting yourself and your skills confidently. FAQs

Do you use online personality tests or strength finders to determine career paths?

No, I walk you through a much simpler analysis to determine things you like doing and are good at doing. I think those tests can be great, but not always actionable. My approach is much more tactical and aimed at providing you with focus for approaching the job boards.

How can you be sure I will gain confidence?

In delivering your elevator pitch and giving your interviews, I’ll explain how to really prepare in advance by using worksheets, practice, and analysis. I’ll also be providing an understanding of what people on the other end of your elevator pitch and interview are looking for from you. Preparedness and understanding make all the difference.

What industries and roles will your methodology apply to?

My clients have found jobs in biomedical engineering, financial services, green tech, brand consulting, think tanks, startups, customer success, SaaS, retail management, film production and the State Department to name a few. My approach is agnostic and works for any role in any industry.

How can you understand what employers want in all those industries?

I have worked in a wide variety of industries myself as a global management consultant. My initial task was always to identify how those industries worked, what roles existed within them, and how they worked together to make the company successful. As a result, I can quickly analyze how most companies break down into functions, how their operations work and how they compete in the market. Those are the things you need to know for applications and interviews. I can explain how to do that in simple terms.

How long does it take to find a job with your help?

That is very dependent on how much effort the job seeker is willing to put in, as well as a little luck and a lot of timing. Networking is the most effective tool you will learn. It can be as little as a few weeks although two to five months is more common.

Aren’t there plenty of jobs because of The Great Resignation? Will I really need help?

There are a lot of jobs which will help with your search, but it does not mean you will be able to walk right into one without careful screening. Bad hires are expensive for companies, and they will not lower their standards for screening resumes or interviewing because the number of open positions are increased.

You’ll still need some game to get a job even though there are more available.

Why hire you over other coaches, resume writers, or consultants?

I encourage you to talk to others in the field. Ask if they offer a full suite of services, from the beginning of the process to the end as I think these all need to be tightly integrated with your core strategy. Also ask for other professionals’ backgrounds: have they ever sat on the other side of the table making decisions on hiring? There is a difference, for example, with human resource business partners’ experience as they served up candidates to the line hiring managers who made decisions.
